Environmental Impact

Plastic Substitution: The project has replaced 100 million plastic and polystyrene plates with eco-friendly, biodegradable arecanut products, reducing the environmental footprint.

Emission Reductions: By curbing more than 5,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions, it contributes to cleaner air, and it helps avoid 60 tonnes of CO2 emissions and 10 tonnes of plastic waste each year.

Economic Impact

Community-Run Enterprises: Local production units have been established, with 90% managed and owned by young men and women from the community.

Increased Earnings for Collectors: Arecanut sheath collectors have seen a 45% rise in their selling prices, improving their financial situation.

Women-Led Ventures: 200 household production units run by women have been set up in rural parts of India

Plam Plates

Munch box Palm Plates are the disposables made from the shredded leaves of the Areca Palm Tree. No trees are chopped or cut at any stage during the process and only shredded areca leaves are used to make this product.

Can withstand 2min the microwave on high heat setting or up to 45 minutes in the oven at 300 °F.

The Lifecycle

Gather & Clean

Fallen Leaves are collected and bought to Unit. It is then cleaned and stored for use

QC, Pack & Ship

Further, the plates are sorted, undergoes QC process and finally Packed and Shipped as per requirement.

Heat & Press

Next, these leaves are steamed and heat pressed giving a meaningful shape

Use, Enjoy & Compost

Use & Enjoy, Prakritii Tableware. Just put the plates in a compost pit which then returns to earth.
